About

About the Park District

The Grand Forks Park District enhances lives through its parks, programs, facilities, forestry services, and staff — guided by a Board of Commissioners, mission, and values.

Our mission

To provide the best parks, programs, facilities, forestry services, and other services possible — promoting a healthy and enjoyable lifestyle for all citizens of Grand Forks.

What we do

Four pillars of service

The Park District's work spans four service areas — every one of them, every day, for the people of Grand Forks.

Parks

Over 60 parks and open spaces across Grand Forks, maintained year-round for play and gathering.

Programs

Year-round programs and activities for all ages and abilities — from youth sports to adaptive recreation.

Facilities

Sports complexes, rinks, pools, and community centers operated by the Park District.

Forestry services

A century-long urban-forestry program — 31,000+ trees cared for and 1,000 planted each spring.

Board of Commissioners

The Park District is governed by an elected Board of Commissioners that sets policy, approves the budget, and guides long-term planning for the parks, programs, and facilities we operate.

Grand Forks Parks Foundation

Our Foundation conducts fundraising, grants, and other giving programs to provide scholarships, financial support, and ongoing development of new parks and programs.
